Woman shares 'brilliant' air fryer poached eggs hack for fail-proof results every time

Of all the basic cooking skills to master, whipping up a batch of perfect poached eggs has to be up there - and one woman reckons she's cracked it.

Having previously struggled to get her poached eggs just right, foodie Ashlea was inspired after seeing somebody else cooking some in their air fryer.

Cheffy Ashlea, who says she's usually "absolutely rubbish" when it comes to cooking poached eggs, was very impressed with the finished result, and the golden, satisfyingly runny yolks that emerged from the air fryer looked pretty close to perfection.

Ashlea kicked things off by pouring some oil and boiling hot water into two ovenproof ramekin dishes, before cracking an egg in each one.

She then popped the eggs into the air fryer, setting the temperature at 200C. As her fryer was already nicely warmed up, Ashlea's eggs only took five minutes, but she says this would usually take around six minutes. Needless to say, you'll need to take care with the hot water.

Once the eggs were beautifully cooked, Ashlea, who goes by the TikTok username @ashleas_kitchen, continued: "Pour the water out. Then I cooked my crumpets, put some butter on, melted some cheese, put a sausage patty on, then those amazing poached eggs.

"Salt and pepper. Look at this now, they looked so so good. Perfect."

Cutting into the egg to reveal a rich orange yolk with a gorgeously runny consistency, Ashlea hailed them as "absolutely delicious".

Pleased as punch with how her tasty brunch had turned out, she added: "I will cook my poached eggs like this every single time now."

A number of Ashlea's foodie followers were keen to try the method for themselves, with one impressed individual commenting: "I'll have some of that. Looks really good!"

Another wrote: "Wow! I'm going to try this. Thank you for sharing".

A third salivated: "Sorry but that looks AMAZING".
