Woman 'shamed' on flight by male attendant who said her top was 'too revealing'

A woman claims she was 'shamed' on a flight by a male attendant who said her top was 'too revealing' - but her fans have rushed to her defence.

Amelia Marni has starred on Love Island Australia so she's used to people staring, but she didn't think her outfit would attract any unwanted attention when she recently boarded a plane.

She chose to wear a black crop-top and khaki trousers, but soon a flight attendant took exception to her outfit and pulled her aside for a chat.

They said that what Amelia had chosen to wear was 'too revealing', and she took to Instagram to vent - sharing an image of the modest outfit she wore on the day.

She's shared her story with her fans on social media (ameliamarni/Tiktok)

What do you think about Amelia's outfit, was it acceptable for a flight? Let us know in the comments...

Sharing a picture online, Amelia explained: "A male flight attendant just told me to cover up and my clothing was too revealing.

"I can't wear this and it's inappropriate to wear on JetStar. NEVER heard of this."

She shared her story on social media and soon she was inundated with comments of support from her followers.

One said: "I used to work for Jetstar and they literally don't give a f**k what you wear."

Soon, Amelia elaborated in an Instagram story. She said: "I'm actually so embarrassed. He was so mean.

She then said that she spoke to a female flight attendant, and asked: "Wait, is this not allowed? I'm only showing the tiniest bit of tummy."

The female flight attendant then spoke to her male counterpart and the man dropped it.

Speaking to 9Honey, a Jetstar spokesperson said: "While we do have basic dress requirements on our flights (ie. shoes), we do not have any policy regarding crop tops.

"Our team will reach out to Amelia and to our crew member to understand what's taken place, and we apologise if there's been any misunderstanding of our policy."
