A woman was left fuming after being shamed by her sister-in-law for not buying a gift for a baby shower she was not even invited to.
The agitated woman, who goes by the username 'Antant', took it to Reddit recently as she revealed the details in a post and asked for the public's opinion.
She described how her brother's wife had a baby shower over a weekend.
She realised that she was not invited to the baby shower, but her brother sent her a gift registry anyway.
She wrote: "I didn't buy anything because I'm not invited so why should I buy a gift?
"My sister-in-law asked me what I got for her on Monday after the shower and I said I'm not getting anything."
She said the mother-to-be teared up when she learned that she was not getting a gift.
Antant added: "I did buy a congrats on your baby card for them.
"I think it's rude to not invite guests to your baby shower but still expect them to get you a gift.
"My brother says I'm immediate family so etiquette rules don't apply and I should not have said it so bluntly to his wife's face.
"I said I'm happy for him and his wife but I'm not getting a gift for them. Then I hung up."
The woman added that she would have brought a gift had she been invited to the baby shower.
Web users on Reddit agreed with the woman and deemed her NTA - Not The A**hole.
One questioned: "She doesn't like you enough to invite you to the shower but does like you enough to take your money? I can't even believe the cheek."
Another suggested a payback to her: "If you want to stir the pot, give them the loudest, most annoying toy you can when the baby's born / for every birthday."
