Woman 'shaken up' after being robbed by two thugs in Aberdeenshire town

A woman has been left ‘shaken up’ after she was robbed by two men in an Aberdeenshire town.

The 44-year-old was walking down High Street in Kemnay when she was approached by the thugs at around 9pm on Friday, March 27.

Both men made demands for money before she handed over a two-figure sum of cash.

The pair were then spotted fleeing the scene towards The Burnett Arms Hotel in the town.

Police Scotland has issued a description of the two men involved as they continue to probe the incident.

Both have been described as white, of slim build, 6ft and 5ft 7ins respectively, with short dark hair and English accents.

They were wearing black zip-up jackets and dark trousers at the time of the incident.

Police Scotland Detective Constable Chris Bruce, of Ellon CID, said: “Fortunately the woman was not injured but she was left shaken up by the incident.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened, or seen the men both before and after the incident.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 3515 of Friday, March 27, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
