Woman sexually assaulted on train to Liverpool by man who exposed himself

A woman was sexually assaulted by a man who exposed himself on a train to Liverpool Lime Street.

The passenger was on board the Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street train at Wigan at 11.30pm on Sunday, August 21 when a man sat next to her.

At first he began talking to her before exposing himself and sexually assaulting her.

The man was asked to move from his seat by the train conductor but returned a short while later before leaving the train at Edge Hill Station.

British Transport Police is now investigating the sexual assault and has released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

Officers believe the man shown in this picture has information which could assist their investigation.
