Woman sexually assaulted in Aberdeen as police hunt man responsible

A woman was sexually assaulted in an Aberdeen street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police are hunting the man responsible for the attack, which happened around 3.25am in Ashvale Place in the city centre.

Pictures from the scene on Sunday show a blue and white police cordon on part of the road, with police officers standing guard outside a building.

Non-uniformed police could also be seen outside the building carrying equipment being used for their investigations.

Detective Inspector Martyn Thomson said: "This is a concerning incident, with the victim left understandably shaken. Enquiries are ongoing and we are working hard to trace the man responsible."

"Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 763 of 24 October 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
