Woman, seven children arrested after stolen car crash

The car crashed into another vehicle and a fence in Como.

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a brief pursuit through Perth's southern suburbs, while driving a stolen car with seven children on board.

Police said car — which was reported stolen earlier this week — was spotted travelling north on the Kwinana Freeway in Como shortly before 1:00am on Sunday.

When officers attempted to stop the car it turned off the freeway, sparking a short pursuit in South Perth.

Police said the chase was aborted soon after when officers lost sight of the car.

It was found shortly after it crashed into a fence and a parked car in Como.

The 18-year-old female driver was arrested along with six girls aged between 11 and 17, and an 11-year-old boy.

Several needed medical treatment, and the 11-year-olds remain in Princess Margaret Hospital, while six females aged between 12 and 18 are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police said no charges had yet been laid.
