Woman seriously sexually assaulted as cops tape off Edinburgh park

Police have taped off an Edinburgh park after a woman was seriously sexual assault in a late night attack.

Officers placed a cordon on Dalmeny Street Park in Leith on Saturday morning.

Police vehicles also remain parked on Iona Street.

The violent attack took place at around 10.45pm on Friday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report that a woman had been seriously sexually assaulted in Dalmeny Park, Edinburgh, around 10.45pm on Friday, 17 January, 2020.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
