Woman seriously injured after being hit by vehicle near Silverburn on Peat Road

A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle near Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow.

Police were called to the scene on Peat Road - which runs through Pollok, Priesthill and Nitshill - yesterday evening shortly after 7pm.

They've since confirmed a 52-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved was uninjured.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware around 7.20pm on Wednesday, 10 March of a 52-year-old woman found injured on Peat Road in Glasgow having been struck by a vehicle.


"She has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries and enquiries are ongoing.

"The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident can call 101, quoting incident 2918 of 10 March."
