Woman seriously hurt after being knocked over at pedestrian crossing in Llanelli

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Llanelli.

The incident happened shortly after 3pm on Saturday in Trostre Road, on the outskirts of Llanelli town centre.

The woman was crossing the road between ATS Euromaster and New Dock Stars RFC when she was knocked over.

Police have not confirmed the age of the pedestrian, but did confirm that she suffered “serious injuries” and was taken to hospital, where she remains.

A section of Trostre Road was closed for around three and a half hours as paramedics and police officers attended the scene.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses to a collision that happened on Saturday, June 8, at around 3.07pm at a pedestrian crossing in Trostre Road, Llanelli.

“The incident involved a Silver Peugeot 207 and a female pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries. She was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

“The vehicle was recovered and the road re-opened at around 5.35pm.”

If anyone has information regarding the incident they are asked to contact Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit by calling 101.
