Woman 'seriously assaulted in Dublin home' in terrifying attack

A man has been arrested after an alleged serious assault of a woman at a home in Dublin.

The incident happened in the Whitestown Grove area of Blanchardstown at around 1pm on Sunday.

Gardai said that a man in his 30s entered the house and seriously assaulted a woman in her 40s.

Officers have since arrested a man in connection with the investigation.

He was detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am this morning.
