Woman seen 'being assaulted' in a car in Swansea, say police

A woman was seen "being assaulted" by a man in a car in Swansea .

South Wales Police is appealing for information after the incident on Wednesday night.

In a statement, the police force said: "We received reports of a woman in distress as she was entering a car with a man in Francis Street at about 11.35pm.

"We then received reports of a woman being assaulted by a man in a car in Westbury Street as it travelled from Brynymor Road and headed towards Walter Road at about 11.44pm.

"The car is described as a dark coloured saloon type car, possibly a navy BMW. It is possibly a left hand drive with foreign number plates."

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the car and also a man who we believe tried to follow the car in Westbury Street.
