A mum-of-seven filmed as taunting hospital staff reportedly called her 'stupid as hell' before she tragically died.
Joyce Echaquan went to hospital in Quebec, Canada, with a stomach ache on Saturday but died two days later, her husband said.
Before her death, as she lay ill in her hospital bed, she filmed as staff appeared to insult and swear at her.
One hospital staff member reportedly tells her "you're stupid as hell".
Another was heard asking her 'what her children would think if they saw her,' CBC reports.
The distress in 37-year-old Joyce's voice can be heard in the disturbing Facebook Live footage.
She is heard shouting for help and screaming in her hospital gown.
The Native Women's Association of Canada said on Twitter : "Joyce Echaquan went to the hospital for medical help.
"Instead, she was told she’s stupid, only good for sex and she would be better off dead as she pleaded for help before dying.
"This racism in the health care system is deeply disturbing and unacceptable."
A nurse involved in her treatment has been dismissed, reports said.
Joyce's husband Carol Dubé said: "I have seven children who find themselves without a mother. I am sad. I am so sad."
The Quebec government said the mum's death will be subject to a coroner's inquiry and an administrative probe.
