Woman 'screamed the shop down' after Will Ferrell tried her cakes

A 22-year-old self-taught baker was gobsmacked when Hollywood star Will Ferrell tried one of her treats.

Leanne Prescott started Cake Corner back in 2016 and has seen it grow from strength to strength as the former Everton academy player now has three shops between Southport and Ormskirk. One thing she could never have foreseen was movie star Will Ferrell enjoying one of her sweet treats during his trip to the UK.

The A-lister has been spotted across the country during his tour of British football, with the LAFC owner being spotted at Anfield as he enjoyed Liverpool's 2-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday, February 10.

It was thanks to one dedicated customer that the 55-year-old actor tried her millionaire shortbread, with the Cake Corner Facebook page posting: "WOW!! What an unbelievable moment this was for us today.

"The man himself Will Ferrell!!! has tried our kinder Millionaire shortbread [and] honestly still doesn’t feel real!! I did tear up this morning when I seen this picture.

"Thank you so much to one of our lovely customers who got the chance to meet Will and gave him one of our cakes."

Leanne told the ECHO: "I couldn't believe it. The customer came in and he works for the Premier League. He showed me the picture and I just screamed the shop down, we had customers in as well.

"He comes in quite a bit and jokes that he uses our cakes to get people into his meetings. At first, I thought he was going to show me a photo of an ex-player at Anfield but I couldn't believe it when it was Will Ferrell. I would never dream of it happening."
