A money-savvy student has revealed how she saves more than £4,000 a year on accommodation while studying away from home without paying for university halls.
It's no secret that uni accommodation is expensive, usually costing upwards of £150 per week in the UK, but with many universities switching to hybrid teaching due to the pandemic, it's a lot of cash to shell out for just a few classes a week.
One student has come up with her savvy way of saving on pennies without having to shell out on student accommodation or miss out on any important lessons.
Tigerlily Taylor ( @tigerlilytaylorx ) recently took to TikTok to reveal that she's saved an eye-watering £4,300 in a single academic year by opting to stay in a hotel instead of uni halls.

"When you only go to uni two days a week, so instead of paying for student accommodation, I stay in a Travelodge," she wrote on the clip.
Tigerlily explained that at her university, a room of that size, with its own bathroom, would cost around £620 a month. Instead she pays just £35 a night at the local Travelodge once a week.
She told MoneySuperMarket : "On average, the university accommodation is £620, per month (that's for a large en-suite room).
"My hotel room usually costs around £35 for the night and I only need to stay once a week so every month I spend £140, on average, for a double room at the Travelodge."
In the comments section many were quick to comment saying she would be missing out on fun times with her course mates, but Tigerlily replied to say she's already made plenty of friends at uni, which is why she chooses to stay in the Travelodge.
