Woman savaged by four of her own dogs as armed police swarm street

A woman has been savaged by her own pet dogs in her street causing armed police to surround the quiet cul-de-sac.

Police, Firefighters and paramedics raced to the street after the woman’s four dogs attacked her.

On Monday at around 10am, neighbours of the woman reported the whole street being filled with emergency response teams within a matter of seconds.

According to the neighbours emergency crews remained on the scene for well over an hour before things started to quieten down.

At the scene, police could be seen loading a small dog into the back of an unmarked black van before driving away.

The attack in the house on Assam Close, St Helens left the woman with serious injuries, who was taken to hospital.

However, it is not yet known how stable the woman’s health is, according to Liverpool Echo.

A resident close to the property told the ECHO : “You should have seen it before, the whole street was filled with police, ambulance and everything, it was mad.”

Another person living on the same estate as Assam Close said that there has been previously been trouble on the estate and that residents ‘have to suffer’ through it.

One resident of the street said: “It’s normally a nice estate so it’s obviously really surprising when something like this goes on.”

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are in attendance in Sutton today, Monday 6 December.

“At around 10.15am, police were called to the Reginald Road area to a report of a woman being attacked by her four dogs, initially described as bulldogs.

“The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

“The dogs have been seized by Merseyside Police.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact us via @MerPolCC or 101 with reference 21000844839.”
