A woman has been brutally attacked by two dogs which were said to be "in a frenzy" and "red with blood" as they tore at her clothes.
Police and paramedics are reportedly in attendance after the attack in Liverpool. It is understood two white Staffies were involved.
Locals also reported a police helicopter hovering above the area. Images from the scene show multiple police cars lining Walton Lane, with police tape up on nearby Ismay Street, reports the Mirror.
Local Kevin Cannon witnessed the horror attack, saying it began with an altercation between two dogs. He added: "I saw the two women in the street and I think there had been a fight. One of the women was covered in blood and the other woman was screaming 'help her'.
"The dogs were savaging the woman. I have never witnessed anything like it. One of them had her leggings in its mouth and the other had ripped off her top.
"There was blood everywhere and she had injuries to her face and neck. She was in a really bad way. The dogs were in a frenzy. They were white Staffies but were red with blood."
A pair of slippers could be seen discarded inside the cordon. Forensic officers have also been pictured after arriving around 9.45am.
Parents have been reported walking past the scene in shock and concerned for their children's safety, with around 15 police cars and four ambulances at the scene in the early hours. Locals also report spotting armed officers storming the scene.
One woman said: "There's always something," as she revealed she heard bangs at around 3am and loud noises, adding her child was disturbed by the commotion.
Mr Cannon, who called the emergency services, said he honked his car to try and scare the dogs away from the woman. He added one of the dogs came running over to him and he got back into his car.
He said: "When I saw it running over I was shaking. My instant reaction was to help but I saw the dogs were in a frenzy. I'm a single parent - if I got injured and had to go to hospital my daughter would be on her own.

"I'm an animal lover and know the Staffies' instincts are to protect. I think there were around 12 police vehicles including Matrix vans and police dog units. When the police came they rammed one of the dogs with their car and the other dog ran away in the direction of City Road. The police helicopter was up looking for the other dog.
"It's one of those things you read about or see on TV. To see it was surreal. It's sickening to have seen it. It was horrendous."
