A woman sacked after giving Donald Trump the bird as his motorcade drove past has had the last laugh — by being elected to public office.

Juli Briskman today won her race to become supervisor for a district in Loudoun County, Virginia.

It was sweet victory for the 52-year-old, who lost her marketing job two years ago after she was photographed giving the middle finger while cycling past the President’s car as it headed to the White House from Mr Trump’s golf course in Sterling, Virginia.

The incident, which attracted headlines around the world, inspired her to become a Democrat election volunteer and then run herself.

She announced her campaign in September last year by sharing a Washington Post article headlined “The cyclist who flipped off Trump’s motorcade is running for public office.”

Ms Briskman said: “It’s feeling fantastic. It’s feeling surreal.”

Mr Trump’s golf course is in her district.

“Isn’t that sweet justice?” she added.
