Woman's warning after pet dog is left 'really upset' by water bottle accident

Dog owners know how much their pets love playing with anything they can get their paws on.

Shoes are a favourite - the more expensive, the better. Any food left around is seen as fair game, too.

However, one woman is urging her fellow dog owners to watch out when plastic drinks bottles are left around, after an incident involving her adorable 11-month-old schnoodle Bodhi left him "really upset".

Boh Earnshaw, 20, took to Facebook to explain what happened.

"Only posting this because I know a lot of people give bottles to their dogs to play with as they love them!

"This morning I came downstairs and my dog had found a plastic water bottle (we didn't give it to him) and he had it stuck around his jaw.

"It was completely STUCK and I couldn't cut it or anything! He was getting really upset and throwing himself all over the place and hitting it on things trying to get it off.

"I straight away took him to the vets who ended up having to sedate him to saw it off!! As his jaw had swollen up so much.

"He was in a lot of pain but thank god it didn't do any damage! Please please don’t give bottles to your dogs to play with in case they do end up really hurting themselves."

Fortunately, Bodhi sustained no lasting injuries thanks to the "amazing" vets.

Boh later told Pretty52 "We have his brother and sister too and none of them ever get to play with bottles mostly because they just swallow all the plastic."
