An investigation is underway after a woman died in what police said were as yet unexplained circumstances.
The woman, who has not been named, died at hospital after being taken there by ambulance from an address in Knowle West.
Local residents reported a large police presence at the scene, as well as emergency response vehicles, paramedics.
The incident happened just before noon on Sunday (January 17) when emergency services were called to a house in Bratton Road, just off Wallingford Road in Knowle West.
“We were called by the ambulance service to attend a property in Bratton Road, Bristol, at just before midday today," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police.
"A woman who was at the property was treated at the scene and taken to hospital, but sadly she has died.
“Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and we’re carrying out further enquiries," he added.
