Woman's tattoo goes horribly wrong as she spots unwanted word in mirror reflection

Considering a tattoo will permanently mark our skin, it's likely you'll spend a significant amount of time debating a particular design or symbol for the life-changing decision. However, there are a few of us out there who will happily get our skin inked while in a spontaneous mood.

Ashleigh Gough did just that after making an "impulsive" mood swing, but now she's facing the consequences and has described it as the "worst idea ever". Sharing a video of her experience online, the social media star was gobsmacked about the reality of her 'smile' tattoo.

In the video on popular social media app TikTok, Ashleigh filmed her day ahead of the footage where she entered the tattoo parlour.

She said: "Good morning, today I'm in a really impulsive spontaneous mood, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to get a tattoo.

"I've looked at places close to me that do walk ins so I'm just going to go there and hopefully they can fit me in - this is very exciting."

As the parlour managed to squeeze her in, Ashleigh had the intentions of getting a tattoo of the world - smile - with the addition that the 'il' was a semi-colon to symbolise mental health awareness.

However, she was soon to realise that the word would appear as a completely differently in the mirror's reflection or simply at a first glance.

She continued: "I'm back home now - I think that was the worst idea I've ever had in my life."

"I don't like it..." She said as she struggled not to laugh.

"I wanted it to be dainty and it's supposed to be a semi-colon - but it doesn't even look like a semi-colon.

"When I look at it in the mirror it looks like it says slime."

Making light of the situation, she said: "It's ok, you live and you learn, eh?"

Fellow TikTokers quickly took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the awkward yet hilarious ordeal - with many agreeing with Ashleigh's unfortunate assumptions.

One user penned: "I read slime when I first saw it."

Ashleigh replied: "Fgs don’t ! I’ll start crying again laughing."

A second asked: "To be honest all I can see is slime. What’s it supposed to be?"

"So smile but the 'il' as a smiley face and the eyes as a semi colon to show solidarity towards mental health," Ashleigh responded.

A third penned: "Don’t worry I’ve seen a lot worse!"
