Woman's robot vacuum catches outline of 'stubborn dog' that refused to move while it cleaned

Robot vacuum cleaners are ingenious devices that can be a huge help around the house – but their cleaning powers are hindered by immovable objects such as furniture, or particularly stubborn pets.

One woman has discovered her Roomba has been having a hard time cleaning the floors of her house because her dog won’t get up off the floor.

Instead, the robot cleans around the pooch, leaving a perfect dog-shaped patch of unclean carpet underneath where the dog was laying.

Posting pictures of the floor map submitted by the Roomba after the house was cleaned, the woman’s brother wrote on Twitter : “Omg my sister's Roomba is drawing her dog on the floor map because he won't move.”

The Twitter post went viral, with commenters amused by the "lazy pup" (@ccarman602 /Twitter)

The post quickly went viral, with people amazed at the dog’s dedication to staying perfectly still.

And while the woman herself doesn’t have Twitter, her brother and her daughter helped provide further updates on the “lazy pup” and the Roomba.

Her brother added: “Also my sister and her dogs aren't on Twitter so she asked that anyone who loves animals please consider donating to the Asheville NC Humane Society.”

While her daughter posted a picture of the pooch and wrote: “This is Bear, his sister’s dog! He’s 7 months and 75lbs. My mom says Roomba frequently runs over his tail … Bear don’t care.”

Some commenters couldn’t believe the Roomba worked in a house with a pet.

One wrote: “Wow so are Roombas actually good with animal fur? I want one but I’m terrified it will die in a week."

And others were quick to reassure them, with one commenter writing: "Yes! And just the fact that they go under beds and couches makes them worth it!"

Even the original poster hyped up the robot vacuum, saying his sister says it "works great" with her two big dogs.

He told them: "My sister's model is the iRobot Roomba i4+ (4552), she has two big dogs and several cats and says it works great, got it discounted on Amazon Prime Day. We had a roomba years ago when they were relatively new and our pets' fur killed it, so they must have improved a lot."

While other commenters just found the post hilarious.

One wrote: “The dog is getting a massage, and he likes it!”

And another added: “I needed that laugh.”
