Woman's powerful message to man who shouted 'fat b****' at her as she was running

Dawn Nisbet burst into tears after she heard a cruel heckler calling her a "fat b****" when she was out running.

She was devastated by the vile comments which were shouted by a complete stranger as she ran through Manchester city centre.

But now she has wiped away the tears and has a defiant message for the man who shouted at her - and it's extremely powerful.

NHS business manager Dawn told the Manchester Evening News : "I was so shocked. I could feel myself getting upset. I ran to the gym. Then I burst into tears, I felt really horrible.

"My fitness has gone up and down in the last year. The words he said were the words I was feeling. What was a throwaway comment for him has had a huge impact on me."

She's decided to turn it into something positive (MEN)

'I was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 30 - now my twins, 2, might get it too'

Dawn started running in 2016 and has since then completed more than 80 Park Runs, a number of 10ks and the Great Manchester half marathon.

She made the headlines the following year after a photo of her celebrating crossing the Park Run finish with a huge smile on her face despite coming last went viral.

But the mum-of-two injured herself late last year and has been struggling to get out as much.

Her mood has been at an 'all time low' and she's put on weight.

But on her way back from the gym on Friday, Dawn decided she was going to turn the negative episode into a positive one.

Mum completely transforms old kitchen and gives it trendy new look for just £38

She remembered an offer to run the Great Manchester Run by organisers that was 'sitting in her email inbox', and has now signed up to raise money for mental health charity Mind.

And now she has a message to the man who made the cruel comment.

She said: "I'm not the person you think I am. You don't know what I can achieve.

"I'm a big girl, I'm fat. This fat girl has done her 68th parkrun.

"Can you imagine if he said 'go girl' instead. You don't know what battles anyone is fighting."

She also wrote on Twitter : "To the guy that shouted "fat b**ch" at me as I ran past him, I'm glad I didn't stop to talk to you.

"I'm glad you didn't see me burst into tears. I'm glad that, after I'd dried my tears, I gave my all to my PT session and have signed up to a 10k. I'm sorry you think that's OK."
