Many of us love a pint or two, and with afternoons often spent down the pub, wouldn’t it be great if more locals sold lager in bigger portions?
That’s what one Reddit user thought when she visited her local pub and was left amazed by the giant two-pint glass of beer she received.
Posting a picture of herself drinking the comically large beverage, she wrote: “My local is now selling lager in 2-pinters. This is a good idea, right?”
But commenters were quick to point out that bigger isn’t always better, as there are a number of factors to consider when weighing up the pros and cons of two-pint drinks.

While bigger glasses can mean less trips to the bar, some people found they were making more visits to the bathroom, as well as being unable to finish their drink before it got warm and unappealing.
One user wrote: “I struggle to drink a whole pint before it gets warm. I can't imagine I'd enjoy drinking more than a whole pint of warm lager from a giant glass.”
And a second added: “These work great when you want a pint of cold beer and then a pint of warm beer.”
Another person even pointed out the bigger glasses can encourage you to drink twice as much, as they claimed they end up going to the bar for another round “just as often”.
They wrote: “We had these in the Euros, worked well until you realise you’re still going to the bar just as often but drinking twice as much!”
Other common criticisms of the large glass included the inability to hold it, as the woman in the picture seemed to struggle with both her hands on the vessel.
One comment read: “Good point, but I can’t even hold it with one hand!”
While another said: “Needs a handle on each side.”
And a third person wrote: “That just looks unwieldy, needs a handle.”
