Woman's head stamped on during shocking' assault in Nottingham

A man punched a woman from behind and stamped on her head during a 'shocking' assault in Nottingham, police have said.

The woman was left with a broken nose and two black eyes during the attack which happened just after 10.35pm on Monday, December 13, 2021.

It is reported that a woman was approached from behind as she was walking along Western Boulevard and heading towards Aspley Lane.

A man is then alleged to have punched her and stamped on her head before fleeing.

The man is described as white, average build and around five-feet-six-inches.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and is now said to be recovering.

PC Hannah Woods, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This incident was absolutely shocking and left a woman injured, shaken and needing to go to hospital to be treated.

“Such behaviour is taken extremely seriously when it is reported to us. Local officers continue to be in the area to offer reassurance and engage with residents and we continue to make enquiries into the incident and understand the circumstances of what happened.

“We are now asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information to come forward.

“The man is described as white, of average build, and around five-feet-six-inches. He was also believed to have been wearing a hood and a blue disposable face mask at the time.”
