Woman's handbag stolen during afternoon robbery in Beeston

A woman's handbag was stolen during a robbery in Beeston.

Police are appealing for information following the incident at 5.15pm on December 16.

The victim was walking on Marlborough Road in the direction of Hetley Road.

A man walked behind her and took her handbag off her shoulder.

The bag was stolen and he ran towards the junction of Malborough Road and Clifford Avenue.

A police spokesman said the man has been described as white, aged around early 20s, roughly 5ft 8 ins tall, wearing a dark-coloured fur-lined hooded jacket that was covering his face, and dark coloured trousers.

The spokesman added: "The bag was described as turquoise coloured with a pink lining, made of plastic and with handles.

"If anyone has any information or witnessed the incident please call 101, quoting incident number 714 of 16 December 2019.

"Officers are also keen to see any local CCTV images or dashcam footage that might have been captured in the area."
