Woman's genius hack will stop you worrying whether you've switched off your straighteners before leaving home

Nothing ruins a day out like doubting if you have plugged your heated appliances out.

You were sure you plugged out your straighteners, but now you're not so certain and your work day or night out doesn't go as smoothly when all you can think of is your house up in flames.

However, worriers of the world can rest easy as one woman has come up with a simple yet effective idea to put your doubts to rest.

According to WalesOnline, Ana Kinsella says a simple photo is all you need to reassure yourself that the appliances are off.

In a tweet, she said: "Now I take a photo of the unplugged appliance before I leave the house so I don't have to worry about it on the whole bus journey."

Ana's picture attached shows her straighteners unplugged and rolled up on her desk.

If those niggling thoughts begin to surface, all she needs to do is look at the photo as evidence that she won't go home to a house full of cinders.

Many people have responded to Ana's tweet, glad that they weren't the only ones with these nervous thoughts.

One person commented: "Utterly relieved to know I’m not the only one who takes a picture of the iron, hob, boiler, etc. so I don’t have to turn around on my commute from work to check."

A second wrote: "I'm glad I'm not the only one! When I go to bed, photo of oven off, candles out, door locked."

"Omg, that is genius," one woman wrote.

Another added: "Stealing this and it's going to improve my mornings immeasurably."
