It's no secret that the internet is marvellous for teaching us things we never knew - from how to properly use ice cube bags to ways to make the most 'epic' roast potatoes.
And now it seems there's another handy trick we can all learn - especially if you wear mascara.
A woman has gone viral on social media after sharing the unique way she applies the make-up product to her lashes and people were left stunned by the impressive results it gives.
Taylor Tripler garnered hundreds of thousands of views after claiming we've been making a mistake when using the mascara wand and instead sharing her method, which people branded 'game-changing'.
In a video on TikTok she claims she learned a better way to apply mascara back when she was in high school and has been doing it ever since - with many complimenting her over the years, thinking she was wearing false eyelashes when she wasn't.
In the clip she explains saying: "Ok you guys are all doing your mascara the wrong way.
"I learned this I think when I was in high school and I've been doing it ever since and everyone always asks me if I have fake eyelashes on.
"Ok, watch..."
Taylor, who posts under @_slaybytay_, advises people not to pump the wand in and out of the tube, but instead to scoop the product out.
She then takes the wand and holds it upright, wiping it left and right along the bottom of her top eyelashes to ensure no part is missed and all of the lashes are covered in mascara.
Once going back and forward a few times like this, she then turns the brush on its side and applies up along the length of the lash as usual.
The final step involves waiting for the mascara to dry completely, then she takes a cotton bud and runs it along her eyelid, to clean up any mess that may have been made.
More than 931,000 people watched the video, with over 126,000 liking it.
Thousands also commented on TikTok with many divided over the technique. A few people admitted the video made them "uncomfy", while others thought it would give "clumpy" mascara.
One said: "Looks great, but makes me uncomfy."
Another wrote: "I feel like I just watched someone open a KitKat and just take a bite right out of it."
"Mine would clump up so bad," replied a third.
However, others confirmed that Taylor's method works wonders.
Someone else responded: "I have a degree in cosmetology and I'm also licensed. You are correct, that is how you supposed to apply mascara. A lot of people don't do it that way."
A different user added: "Did this and did not poke out my eye and my lashes don't look clumpy.
"My lashes do however look FANTASTIC. GAME-CHANGER."
