Woman's fury as she 'walks out' of nail salon after two-hour session goes wrong

Have you ever had a service experience so bad you walked out before the job was finished?

One woman on TikTok has shared her nail salon horror story after she spent a painstaking two hours having her nails filed into shape, as she ultimately left her appointment before the technician had time to apply any colour.

Campbell Puckett said she visited the salon to have her false nails soaked off and have new ones put on, and blocked out two hours from her day for the session as she assumed that would be plenty of time.

But the woman began getting "worried" when her nail technician first stuck the tips of her nails on "really crooked", and then spent the entirety of their session slowly filing each nail.

Campbell, who posts on TikTok under the username @campbellhuntpuckett, said: “I went to a salon, I won't say the name of it, but I needed to get my nails off. I needed to soak off and get new nails with tips and SNS. So just one colour.

“I was thinking I would be there for like two hours, I allotted two hours for it. Even though I thought it wouldn’t take that long.

“So we start soaking up my nails and the girl seems sweet, maybe she just started doing nails I'm not sure, but I was cheering for her. I'm like ‘girl you got this’.

“I’m looking at my nails and she starts glueing the tips on and I'm not worried yet but like I'm getting a little worried. The tips are going on really crooked, they're not straight at all. And I said ‘are you going to be able to straighten them out a little bit whenever you file them?’ And she's like, ‘yes, no problem’.”

The woman showed her technician the almond shape she wanted but began to get uncomfortable with the situation when she took 10 minutes to file just one nail.

Campbell said she spoke to another member of staff who insisted she should wait for her nails to be filed as there was no one else available to take over her appointment - but the woman struggled to make it through the process.

She added: “I showed a photo of what I wanted, and I just wanted almond shape. She starts filing my nails and when I say it took literally 10 minutes to file one nail I'm not exaggerating. 20 minutes had gone by and only two nails were filed. I'm getting worried.

“I let her finish filing all the nails. It's now been two hours and the nails are just filed so there's no colour on them, no dip or anything. My anxiety is [high] and I'm just sitting there thinking ‘what am I going to say?’."

Eventually, Campbell told her technician she had to leave the appointment without any colour on her nails - and she still paid $10 (£8) plus tip for the service she had received.

She said: “I've got to leave because at this point I just know I'm gonna have to get my nails redone so why put myself and her through any more awkwardness and pain. So I just said politely ‘Can I just pay you for what you've done so far? And I can leave.’

“I don't know if there was a misunderstanding or what. She charged me $10 (£8) and I gave her a tip just because I felt like that was the right thing to do.”

Commenters on Campbell's TikTok video praised the woman for being kind enough to still pay and tip the technician, as many of them said they would have walked out without paying.

One wrote: "You were way too kind, they shouldn't have accepted your payment."

As another said: "You’re so kind for being so patient and compassionate towards her even though it was clearly not going down well."
