Woman's date launches into vicious tirade after she calls herself a 'dog mom'

We all know dating can be hard, and often, when you don't know a person too well, it can be easy to be put off by seemingly insignificant things, such as the clothes they wear or the music they listen to.

But, while it's fairly common to develop what's known as 'the ick,' one woman was caught completely off-guard when her Hinge date launched into a vicious tirade against her, all because she described herself as a 'dog mom.'

TikTok user Kristen Beatty ( @kristenbeatty24 ) matched with her date on Hinge after recognising his photos and later discovering they lived in the same apartment block.

The pair met up for a casual drink in their communal garden area and things were going great - Kristen told him all about her dog and he said he absolutely loved animals.

Everything was going well and Kristen even introduced her dog to her date (TIKTOK / @KRISTENBEATTY)
But things went south when she referred to herself ad a 'dog mom' (TIKTOK / @KRISTENBEATTY)

Following on from the date, the man even met her dog, but things turned awkward when he left to go on another date. Seriously not cool, guy.

However, in an attempt to ensure they wouldn't endure any awkwardness living in the same building, Kristen decided to send her date a text to let him know it was 'National Dog Mom Day.'

"I said it was 'National dog-mom-day' and your boy did not take it so well, and you better believe I kept the receipts," Kristen explained in a clip, before sharing a response from the man which read: "For real? I admire real moms. Parenting a human is 100 percent more rewarding than a pet."

He then asked her: "Do you put yourself in that category being a 'dog mom'" to which the woman responded: "I own a dog, so yeah."

Clearly perturbed by her answer, the man then wrote: "Bye. I find that childish."

Kristen then started laughing and pointed out that the conversation should have ended there, but the man continued: "Anyone can take care of a pet, you don't need recognition for it, I'm sorry."

She tried to explain that she wasn't comparing being a dog parent to being a human parent and pointed out that she never asked for any recognition, but that didn't stop the angry bile from spilling from her date.

"Well that's what that is. Nobody cares that you're a dog mom. Why the need for a title? They want recognition or else you wouldn't have it. Society is a joke. I'm a serious person. I'm not liberal by any means."

He continued: "Let me guess, you put clothes on your dog? Let it sleep with you in bed? Think of it as your child? Clearly, we won't get along." Nope, it certainly doesn't sound like it.
