Limescale is one of the toughest substances to remove from bathroom surfaces, but one woman has revealed how she keeps it from forming in the first place.
The calcium build-up is left after hard water evaporates and damper areas like the shower offer the perfect conditions for it to gather. While it is harmless, it can become tougher to get rid of if left untreated.
After being asked by friends how she manages to keep her bathroom spotlessly clean, TikTok content creator Cherise revealed her secret to keeping a shiny bathroom - but it didn't go down well with everyone.
The woman who shares clips of her day-to-day life uploaded a video to the platform explaining her method. Posting on her profile, @miss_cherise, she said while filming her pristine bathroom: "So whenever anyone comes to my apartment, they're like, 'Oh my gosh, your bathroom is so shiny."
As reported by the Mirror, she finally told her 2.5k followers: "And it's because, girls, I literally dry my bath after every shower."
She then appeared in front of the camera with wet hair and a towel having just taken a shower. Cherise then took a small hand towel and wiped down all the tiles, shower screen and taps.
The savvy cleaner continued: "I first of all use the window wiper thing, then I dry it with a towel. The tiles, the silver points and the glass screen.
"Because honey, what's limescale? Limescale does not exist in this home. And obviously, it looks so motherf*****g good!"
She added: "If there's no water stain or limescale then it will forever stay shiny and I love it." Cherise then showed off her shower, which looked sparkly clean, with no water stains or marks to be seen.
Many people weren't too happy with her post-shower routine, saying it's too much effort and time consuming. One person said: "Ain't nobody got time for that," while someone else added: "I'd start sweating again if i did that."
A third commented: "I don't have time in the morning for all that."
However, there were several people who do the exact same and agree that it's the best way to keep your shower clean. One commenter said: "Yesssssss we grew up being forced to wipe down for the next person in my home. Best habit to pick up."
Another simply said: "I do exactly the same thing." A third added: "I do this. It's just a habit now and it takes no time".
