Woman's body pulled from water in Annan as cops probe unexplained death

Emergency services have pulled to body of a woman from the water in Dumfries and Galloway .

Police and the Coastguard were alerted to Solway Firth on the border between Scotland and England on Saturday, January 11.

Officers at the scene were able to retrieve the body of a woman from the water near Cummertrees, Annan .

Police Scotland are treating the death as unexplained.

A spokesperson for the force added: “A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

A spokesman for the Maritime & Coastguard Agency said: "HM Coastguard was asked to assist Police Scotland with an incident overnight on the shoreline in the Cummertrees area of Solway Firth. Annan coastguard rescue team attended."
