Woman's body has been recovered from Derbyshire floodwater, police confirm

Police have confirmed a woman's body has been recovered from floodwater.

Emergency services were called to a stretch of the River Derwent in Darley Dale, near Matlock, Derbyshire, in the early hours of Friday morning (November 8).

A woman was reported as having been swept away by floodwater in Rowsley.

The body found in Darley Dale is believed to be of the same woman.

It was recovered at 10.40am.

A spokesman for said: "The family of the woman have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.

"Formal identification has yet to take place."
