Tributes have been paid to a missing Edinburgh woman who was found dead on a Fife beach.
Irene McArthur, who went missing from the Little France, Edinburgh on February 12.
The 59-year-old's niece confirmed her body had been found yesterday.
She said: "Unfortunately Irene has sadly passed away. Her body was found in Fife today."
A spokesman for Police Scotland, confirmed: “We received reports of a woman’s body being found on Lower largo beach at 10.30am on Sunday, February 16.
“Formal identification is yet to take place but we can confirm that the family of Irene McArthur has now been notified.”
A police appeal was launched on Thursday after family members became ‘increasingly concerned’ for her welfare.
