Woman's body found in Scots hotel as cops launch 'unexplained' death probe

A woman has died suddenly in a Scots hotel with police treating the death as "unexplained."

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh at around 11.20am on Monday July 26.

Officers confirmed that enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20am on Monday, July 26, police were called to a report of the sudden death of a woman at a hotel in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”

The news comes after the body of a 34-year-old man was found in a flat in the city earlier this month following his sudden death.

Police and medics, including a forensics team, arrived at the scene on Waterfront Avenue in the Granton area of Edinburgh.

The death was also treated as unexplained but the cops added that there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
