Newly-weds found dead in Hemavati

A newly married couple was found dead in Hemavati river near Hennali village in Sakleshpur taluk. The couple is suspected to have fallen into the river accidentally, while on a visit to the riverside on Thursday evening. The police gave the names of the deceased as Kruthika, 23, of Hennali and her husband Arthesh, 27, a native of Belur, who was working in a private firm in Bengaluru.

They got married in Sakleshpur on March 20. They were on a visit to Hennali when the incident happened. According to their family members, they went out on a bike on Thursday evening. As they did not return, the relatives went around in search and spotted the bike on the river bank. Suspecting that they must have fallen into the river, the relatives searched in the water and found Kruthika’s body late in the evening on Thursday. During the search operation on Friday, the people traced Arthesh’s body as well.

It is not clear how they fell into the river. Sakleshpur Town police have registered a case.
