A woman’s body has tragically been found within the grounds of a hospital in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called after the grim discovery was made at Stobhill Hospital on Balornock Road early on Monday morning.
Police Scotland have confirmed they are investigating but have said that they are not currently treating the 47-year-old’s death as suspicious.
A post mortem is set to be carried out to determine how she passed away.
It is not currently known whether the woman was a patient at the medical centre.
A force spokesperson said: "Around 8 am on Monday, 20 September 2021, a 47-year-old woman was found dead within the grounds of Stobhill Hospital, Balornock Road, Glasgow.
"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which police are not treating as suspicious meantime.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
A spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "Our sympathies go out to the family during this difficult time.
"For confidentiality reasons we are unable to comment any further."
