Woman’s body found in Glasgow home as police launch probe

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a young woman was found in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland attended an address in Craigpark Drive, Dennistoun, early this morning after “concerns for a person” were raised.

They discovered the 23-year-old in the flat at about 4.30am and tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops are treating her death as unexplained at this stage but confirmed there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called to attend a property on Craigpark Drive in Glasgow following concerns raised for a 23-year-old woman shortly before 4.30am on Friday, 15 January.

“Emergency services attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin has been made aware.

“Her death is being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
