Cops have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was discovered in Fife.

Officers were called to an address in Cupar on Wednesday evening.

They cordoned off the area around the flat in the town’s Westfield Avenue as they conducted their investigation and carried out door knocks in the vicinity.

A spokesman confirmed said the woman’s “sudden death” was being treated as unexplained.

He said: “Officers were called to an address in Westfield Avenue, Cupar at 6pm on Wednesday, 18 November, 2020, following the sudden death of a 49-year-old woman.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

“Her next of kin have been made aware.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
