Woman's body found in car in Scots forest as cops launch probe

The body of a woman has been found in a car in Aberdeen sparking a massive police probe.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to Countesswells Forest, in the west of the city, after the grim discovery was made just before 11am on Thursday, January 7.

The woman's identity is yet to be established.

Police remain on the scene this afternoon as they continue their investigation into the find.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "At around 10.50am on Thursday, January 7 police were called to reports of the body of a woman discovered within a care in the Countesswells Forest area.

"Emergency services remain at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
