Woman's 'beautiful' act of kindness after spotting stranger crying alone in restaurant

When you've had a difficult day, it is important to have a friendly shoulder to cry on.

But for one woman going through a rough time kindness came from an unexpected place. The upset artist was reduced to tears while eating dinner alone, much to the dismay of a group of friends sat next to her.

Keen to offer her comfort, they surprised the artist after dinner, and when she took to the internet to thank the strangers, people were left in tears by the thoughtful gesture.

The heartwarming story came to light after Angela Lynch revealed what had happened in a post to TikTok.

Shared to @angelafvlynch, the actress recorded her shock moments after the strangers surprised her. Filming a bundle of sweets on the table in front of her, she wrote: "I was having my main character moment, crying alone at dinner after a rough day when the girls sitting next to me slid me this note with candy and a glass of wine."

"A little kindness goes a long way," she added, as she opened the handwritten note. "Bought your dinner. Sorry for your troubles, wishing you the best and no stress xoxo," it read.

In response, the diner blew a kiss into the camera, smiling at the act of kindness; the gesture also went on to bring a smile to many more people's faces, when her video thanking the strangers went viral. It has since amassed over 600,000 views and hundreds of comments from impressed viewers.

"Not to be dramatic but I would never stop crying if someone did that to me," read one reply. Another said: "When women look out for other women, it is so incredibly beautiful and powerful. We can be amazing." And a third wrote: "I wish nothing but happiness for them, this is so sweet. I also hope you’re feeling better!"

The video was also seen by one of the strangers who helped to cheer up the woman. She commented: "Omg this was me and my friends!!we’d buy you dinner any time, sending you lots of love." Angela replied: " You girls are one of a kind! Thank you for being so caring, you really made my night and I’d love to hang out sometime."
