Woman's bag snatched in brazen lunchtime robbery in Rathfarnham

Locals have been warned to stay alert after a woman had her bag snatched in a brazen lunchtime robbery in Rathfarnham.

The woman was walking near Butterfield Close yesterday afternoon at around 2pm when the thief struck.

The Butterfield District Residents' Association took to Facebook to warn locals to be on their guard while out walking.

They said: "The theft occurred around lunchtime on a bright day, with other walkers in the vicinity.

"If you are out walking in the area please make sure to stay alert and to be mindful of your personal safety.

"If you do see anything suspicious, remember to dial 999 and ask for a car to be sent out."

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed to Dublin Live investigations into the theft are continuing.
