Woman's attempt to trick fiancé with cheating prank backfires in wholesome way

A video of a woman playing a prank on her fiancé went viral after it took an unexpected turn.

Sam and Monica have racked up more than 1.2 million followers on TikTok by documenting behind the scenes videos of their relationship.

In a recent clip that has been viewed more than 3.3 million times, Monica tried to trick Sam into believing that she'd cheated on him.

The popular prank usually sees one partner sending a text to the other making it seems as if they're having an affair.

Curious to see how Sam would react, Monica waited until he'd left their house to send him a text that read: "He’s leaving now, you can come over."

But instead of assuming she was being unfaithful, he thought she was throwing him a belated surprise birthday party, and ran back upstairs to confront her about the message.

"I thought you were leaving?" she said as he walked into their bedroom.

"Yeah, I was leaving, until I saw your cheeky text message," he said as he laughed.

Monica feigned confusion until he continued: "Are you planning a belated birthday surprise for me or something?"

"No," she exclaimed through laughs. "Your birthday was over a month ago!"

"Yeah but it’s never too late to celebrate, is it?" he replied, before adding: "I know you’re doing it, OK, I love you so much."

He then kissed her and headed back out the door.

Since being posted, the video has racked up more than 600,000 likes and 5,800 comments from people who praised how "healthy" their relationship is.

Another wrote: "He knew the game and changed the rules, he won this round!"

"Tell me you're in a healthy relationship without telling me," added a third viewer.

"I'm gonna be kinda upset if you didn't throw a last-minute surprise party," commented a fourth person.
