Woman's 2 year TikTok hunt for mystery man on phone tracks him down - to find he's taken

A festival goer who launched a hunt for a mystery man who filmed a video on her phone two years ago ended with less than ideal results.

Cherie Jones lost her phone at the New Year's Eve festival In The Park in 2018 after a huge storm brought celebrations to an abrupt halt.

Now, two years later, Cherie has revealed how the device was handed in by a kind-hearted man who filmed a short clip for her.

In the video, the man can be heard saying: "We have your phone. Don't worry".

The mystery man then runs his hands through his hair before saying he will hand the phone to security.

Cherie's original post went viral when she took to TikTok saying: "Help me find the man who handed my phone into security after a storm at a festival."

She then posted a clip of the brunette-haired man, with accompanying heart and sweaty face emojis.

After Cherie's post went viral, the man eventually was tracked down - before she was dealt the devastating blow that he was actually not single.

Cherie says she was "a little disappointed" (vodkalimesoda/Instagram)

Cherie posted pictures of their conversation, where she asked: "Just making sure you are definitely single?"

But unfortunately, it didn't end well, with the fellow festival-goer replying: "Sorry, I'm actually seeing someone".

Despite the unhappy ending, Cherie said she was "a little disappointed, but oh well" - adding: "Don't be afraid to shoot your shot ladies".
