A woman was rushed to hospital following a crash in Peterhead this afternoon.
Emergency services scrambled to St Peter Street in the Aberdeenshire town after the two-vehicle accident happened at around 2.10pm on Wednesday.
Ambulance crews attended and one woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. Her condition is currently unknown.
A picture taken from the scene showed a fire engine and two ambulances at the scene.
A blue vehicle involved in the crash appeared to have the top removed, with debris seen scattered on the road. Unconfirmed reports suggest the driver was cut from the vehicle.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.10pm on Wednesday, May 3, police were called to a report of a road crash involving two vehicles on St Peter Street, Peterhead.
"Officers attended and assisted and a woman from one of the vehicles was taken by Ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."
Police have since confirmed that a woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with road traffic offences following the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We were called at 2.33pm and mobilised two appliances from Peterhead. We left the scene at 3.52pm."
