Woman rushed to hospital with serious injuries in Possilpark flat fire

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a flat fire in Possilpark.

Emergency services raced to Killearn Street in the the north of Glasgow yesterday evening (Thursday) after reports of a fire in a stairwell within a block of flats.

Officers confirmed to Glasgow Live  the 31-year-old woman is in hospital, receiving treatment for serious injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at a report of a fire in the stairwell at an address in Killearn Street, Glasgow about 5.30pm yesterday evening.

"A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injurues where she remains receiving treatment.

"Enquiries into the cause of the fire remain ongoing and officers continue to assist fire services."
