Woman rushed to hospital with serious injuries after fire inside Glasgow flats

A woman has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a fire inside a block of flats in Glasgow.

Emergency services raced to Killearn Street in the Possilpark area of the city after reports of a fire in a stairwell at around 5.30pm on Thursday.

A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she is still being treated for her injuries.

Police have now launched a probe into the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at a report of a fire in a stairwell at an address in Killearn Street, Glasgow at around 5.30pm on Thursday.

"A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service with serious injuries where she remains receiving treatment.

"Enquiries into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
