Woman rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car near Scots retail park

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on the A82 near a Scots retail park.

Emergency services raced to the busy trunk road around 2.10pm on Friday, October 29.

A 56-year-old woman was hit while on North Road, outside the Fort William Retail Park.

She was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries.

The road was closed for over three hours while collision investigations took place and reopened at around 5.35pm.

Road Policing officers are now appealing for information.

Road Policing Constable Ben Cruickshank from the Highland & Islands Road Policing Unit said: “The road was closed for over 3 hours to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out.

“We are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to get in touch via 101 quoting reference number 1974 of 29 October 2021.
