Woman rushed to hospital with head injuries after being hit by lorry

A woman was rushed to hospital with head injuries after being hit by a lorry in Bury on Wednesday afternoon (September 28). Walmersley Road was cordoned off in both directions following the collision, shortly after 2pm.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene where a woman was taken to hospital by paramedics with head injuries. The road was closed between Limefield Brow and Lowes Road.

There were reports of an air ambulance also landing in the area following the collision. The Moorside Action Team, a Facebook page ran by three local councillors, shared a post about the collision, adding their 'thoughts are with the pedestrian involved'.
