Woman rushed to hospital as police lock down street in Edinburgh

Police have locked down a street in Edinburgh after a woman was rushed to hospital.

Emergency services raced to Ferry Road Avenue in the north of the capital following the incident at around 2.35pm on Monday April 12.

The alarm was raised after a woman took unwell in a car park.

Her condition is not yet known.

Officers attended and cordoned off the area while ambulance crews took the lady to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.35 pm on Monday, April 12, 2021, police and emergency services were called to assist a woman who appears to have taken unwell in a car park near Ferry Road Avenue, Edinburgh.

"The lady has been taken by ambulance to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

"There are no details on her condition.

"Enquiries are continuing."
